Design commenced in 2003 the owner is a non-profit group which provided the funding of the construction through donations. During the design Emory University approached the Ronald McDonald House charities for a land swap of the existing facility that they owned. This caused a complete redesign of the project due to the differing site conditions. Project was also the first LEED certified project at Gary Coursey & Associates.
